Gerald Bernstein, M.D.
It is well known that one of causes of facial aging is the loss of facial structure or volume; our cheeks and lower lids become hollow, nasolabial folds and Marionette lines appear and deepen. We lose the “full face” of youth. Fortunately, for many years these areas have been easily treated and greatly improved with fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, Fat Transfer and Juvederm and others.
However, our temples also lose volume and become concave as we age. This loss of volume further contributes to the aged appearance of the upper face. Similarly, there is thinning of the forehead, especially over the eyebrows, which appears to contribute to lowering of the eyebrows.
Unfortunately, the aging of our temples and foreheads is usually overlooked and rarely treated,
Now, the temple and forehead can be easily restored to a more normal appearance with fillers such as Radiesse, Fat transfer (transplanting one’s own fat) and other fillers. Adding local anesthetic usually makes the entire procedure quite comfortable.
We have been successfully restoring volume to the temples and forehead with fat transfer and Radiesse for years. Together with fillers to other areas of the face it can be a very subtle.
